There will be 3 UGreen DXP6800s that would be maxed out, and intended to provide a solution for every member of the family. Each member will have a single NAS?, and at least one of their pools will be required for a backup solution. They will not have file sharing access on this NAS. If they wished to share a file, then they will use one of the DXP8800s that will be WAN? connected. There will be a new and dedicated domain? exclusively for file sharing.

I am not a fan of Intel. I never had a good experience with them, but I have no choice but to trust that this CPU will continue on for the foreseeable future. I wouldn’t want to spend $1,200 for a NAS because the previous broke down. Not only is there the financial cost, but there is the time cost where I will have to move the drives from the defective NAS to the functioning NAS. The 64GB of memory will be more than enough to support the features this NAS will be used for. There will be four pools – each with RAID-1, and each intended to make the most of the capabilities. Each member of the family will have access to one such NAS as long as they are a member of the family.
Backup
I will require at least one pool to be a backup of the system they have. This will allow the family member to protect the system in case of loss/theft, or if something was to happen to the system, and you need your personal files to a new computer. Since one pool must be a backup, this will for this policy with everyone involved.
Cloud Storage
There will be an 8TB? pool for cloud storage. This will allow the foster child to take a picture with their phone, and it is nearly instantly available to their NAS that they are using. If they were to have a dedicated school computer (other than ChromeOS), then they will likely be able to install an app, and have that computer also connect to this storage. This will mean they will be able to do their school work, and save to this 8TB drive. As long as the school has Internet access, they will have access to their files.
NAS
The other 2 pools can be done with as they see fit. One example might be to be archive files if the member of the family was a Youtuber. Music files for the audiographer can store their works, and projects. If the family member is a temporary member, they may also wish to invest in SD cards (1TB+) for moving the files to the cards before they leave.
